Transpek is a signatory to the global Responsible Care initiative. Handling chlorine and sulphur at scale places an obligation on us — to our people, to the communities around Ekalbara and Vadodara, and to the environment we operate in.
EcoVadis assesses sustainability management across four themes and benchmarks it against tens of thousands of rated companies worldwide. A Gold medal places Transpek among the leading performers in its industry — independent, evidence-based validation of what our management systems actually deliver.
Sustainability at Transpek is expressed through certified management systems rather than statements of intent.
ISO 14001:2015 environmental management — effluent, emissions and waste managed as operating parameters.
ISO 45001 occupational health and safety, underpinned by a formal process safety framework.
ISO 50001 energy management, certified by TUV India, driving reduction in energy intensity.
CSR programmes in education, healthcare and community development around our operations.
Two of our most significant environmental programmes are indigenous developments, not bought-in solutions.
Bio filter is an environment friendly, indigenously developed green technology for waste water treatment. The process harnesses the energy, carbon and other elements of the waste and converts them to precious “Bio-nutritional” products like energy rich humus, bio fertilizer and nutrient rich water.
Using this proprietary biofiltration technology we recycle village sewage water and use it for plantation, and we also use biofilters to treat some of our process effluent water.
We use biowaste to fuel our entire steam generation, displacing fossil fuel from the site’s largest thermal demand.
Sewage water from the surrounding village is recycled through the bio filter and used for plantation.
Biofilters treat part of our process effluent water, alongside conventional effluent treatment.
Responsible Care is the chemical industry’s global initiative for continuous improvement in health, safety and environmental performance. As a signatory, Transpek commits to its codes of practice across product stewardship, process safety, distribution, employee health and safety, and community awareness.
It is a public commitment with external scrutiny attached — which is precisely the point.
Evonik and CABB both publish an annual sustainability report with quantified targets. This is the clearest gap on the current Transpek site.
Quantified environmental and safety performance, to be published once verified.
