Responsible Care is a signature

Transpek is a signatory to the global Responsible Care initiative. Handling chlorine and sulphur at scale places an obligation on us — to our people, to the communities around Ekalbara and Vadodara, and to the environment we operate in.

Rated Gold for sustainability performance

EcoVadis assesses sustainability management across four themes and benchmarks it against tens of thousands of rated companies worldwide. A Gold medal places Transpek among the leading performers in its industry — independent, evidence-based validation of what our management systems actually deliver.

Environment
Emissions, effluent, waste, energy and water, governed under ISO 14001 and ISO 50001.
Labour & Human Rights
Occupational health and safety, working conditions and employee development.
Ethics
Anti-corruption, fair business practice and responsible governance.
Sustainable Procurement
Environmental and social performance across our own supply chain.

Our approach

Four commitments we are certified against

Sustainability at Transpek is expressed through certified management systems rather than statements of intent.

Environment

ISO 14001:2015 environmental management — effluent, emissions and waste managed as operating parameters.

Health & safety

ISO 45001 occupational health and safety, underpinned by a formal process safety framework.

Energy

ISO 50001 energy management, certified by TUV India, driving reduction in energy intensity.

Community

CSR programmes in education, healthcare and community development around our operations.

Green initiatives

Technology we built ourselves

Two of our most significant environmental programmes are indigenous developments, not bought-in solutions.

Bio Filter Plant

Bio filter is an environment friendly, indigenously developed green technology for waste water treatment. The process harnesses the energy, carbon and other elements of the waste and converts them to precious “Bio-nutritional” products like energy rich humus, bio fertilizer and nutrient rich water.

Using this proprietary biofiltration technology we recycle village sewage water and use it for plantation, and we also use biofilters to treat some of our process effluent water.

Biowaste-fuelled steam

We use biowaste to fuel our entire steam generation, displacing fossil fuel from the site’s largest thermal demand.

Village sewage recycled

Sewage water from the surrounding village is recycled through the bio filter and used for plantation.

Process effluent treated

Biofilters treat part of our process effluent water, alongside conventional effluent treatment.

To be suppliedA photograph of the Bio Filter Plant — the one used in the corporate brochure would work directly. Upload it to the Media Library and replace the image slot above. Also valuable here: bio filter throughput (m³/day), volume of village sewage recycled per year, share of steam generated from biowaste, and tonnes of humus or bio fertilizer produced. Quantified figures turn these from claims into evidence.
Responsible Care

A global commitment, locally audited

Responsible Care is the chemical industry’s global initiative for continuous improvement in health, safety and environmental performance. As a signatory, Transpek commits to its codes of practice across product stewardship, process safety, distribution, employee health and safety, and community awareness.

It is a public commitment with external scrutiny attached — which is precisely the point.

Sustainability reporting

Evonik and CABB both publish an annual sustainability report with quantified targets. This is the clearest gap on the current Transpek site.

To be suppliedBusiness Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSR) PDFs, energy and water intensity, specific emissions, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, renewable energy share, and any UN SDG mapping. Add each report to Downloads; the metrics band below is ready for the figures.
