Aromatic diacid chlorides
Terephthaloyl chloride and isophthaloyl chloride are our principal polymer intermediates. They build poly(p-phenyleneisophthalamide) and poly(m-phenyleneisophthalamide) aramids, polyether ketone ketone (PEKK), polyether ketone ether ketone ketone, and amorphous polyarylates.
Peroxide initiators
Neodecanoyl chloride, isononanoyl chloride and 2-ethylhexanoyl chloride are precursors to the peroxyesters and diacyl peroxides used to initiate PVC and acrylic polymerisation — including tert-butyl peroxyneodecanoate, cumyl peroxyneodecanoate, dilauroyl peroxide and dioctanoyl peroxide.
Why purity decides the outcome
In step-growth polymerisation, a monofunctional impurity terminates a chain. Molecular weight and mechanical properties are therefore a direct function of diacid chloride quality — which is why polymer customers audit us closely.
