Amino acid surfactants
Cocoyl chloride and lauroyl chloride are the feedstocks for the mild anionic surfactants now standard in premium cleansers — sodium cocoyl glycinate, sodium cocoyl isethionate, sodium cocoyl sarcosinate and sodium lauroyl sarcosinate.
Why acid chlorides
Acylating an amino acid needs an activated carboxyl. The acid chloride route gives high conversion and a clean impurity profile, which is what allows these surfactants to be used in leave-on and facial products.
Chain length options
Beyond coco and lauric, we supply C8 (octanoyl), C10 (decanoyl) and branched C9 (isononanoyl) chains where a different foam, solubility or irritancy profile is required.
